Starlink Plan Finder and Cost Calculator
How much does Starlink cost? It depends on the plan, the hardware and where you live. Prices change often and Starlink shows the exact price for your address on its order page, so this tool doesn’t guess prices. It helps you find a plan family, then works out the real cost from the prices you enter.
Starlink plan finder and cost calculator
Find the plan family that fits, compare the real cost of two options using prices from Starlink’s order page, and estimate power and battery use.
General guidance, not a quote. Plans, prices and availability change and vary by address, so check Starlink’s service plans page and order page before you buy. Power figures are averages from Starlink’s specification sheets as reported; real use varies with conditions, snow melt and settings.
Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to the most common questions about Starlink pricing, plans, and equipment costs.
How much does Starlink cost per month?
Starlink’s monthly cost depends on the plan and where you live. In the United States there are three Residential tiers (Residential 100 Mbps, Residential 200 Mbps and Residential Max), three Roam plans (Roam 100GB, Roam 300GB and Roam Unlimited) and business Priority plans. Prices vary by address, change often, and are shown on Starlink’s order page for your location.
International prices differ by country and currency. Use the tool above to work out your real cost from the prices Starlink shows you.
What is the total Starlink internet cost to get started?
Your total start-up cost is made up of:
- Hardware: the dish and router (a one-time purchase or, in some offers, a rental)
- Monthly service: your chosen plan
- Shipping and taxes: shown at checkout
Starlink’s order page shows the exact total for your address, including any current hardware promotion.
How much does Starlink equipment cost?
Starlink equipment cost depends on which hardware you choose and on current offers:
- Standard Kit: dish, router, cables and a base, for fixed locations
- Starlink Mini: portable, compact design with built-in Wi-Fi
- Performance and Flat High Performance kits: larger dishes for tougher conditions, in-motion and commercial use
Hardware prices vary by country and promotion, so check Starlink’s order page for current prices.
What are the different Starlink internet plans available?
Starlink offers several plan families. Names and prices change, so check the order page for your address:
- Residential 100 Mbps: entry tier with a 100 Mbps speed cap, in select areas
- Residential 200 Mbps (formerly Residential Lite): lower priority than Max during peak hours, in select areas
- Residential Max (formerly standard Residential): the highest Residential network priority
- Roam 100GB (formerly Roam 50GB) and Roam 300GB: that much high-speed data, then unlimited low-speed data
- Roam Unlimited: no high-speed data threshold, for RVs and nomads
- Business (Local Priority and Global Priority): priority data blocks for commercial use
How much is the Starlink Mini price?
The Starlink Mini’s price depends on your location and current promotions, so check Starlink’s order page. The Mini is built for Roam plans; whether it can be used with a Residential plan has varied by country and over time, and Starlink has offered a Mini kit perk to some Residential Max customers.
The Mini is perfect for travelers, campers and digital nomads who need portable internet. It features a built-in WiFi router and weighs significantly less than the standard dish.
Are Starlink prices the same everywhere?
No. Starlink prices vary significantly by country and region, and even by address within a country, because of local currencies, market conditions and available capacity. Hardware prices differ too. Confirm current prices on Starlink’s order page, then use the tool above to compare your options.
What is included in the Starlink monthly cost?
What your Starlink monthly cost includes depends on your plan:
- Residential plans include unlimited data (fair use applies)
- Roam 100GB and Roam 300GB include that much high-speed data, then unlimited low-speed data; Roam Unlimited has no high-speed threshold
- Regular software updates and improvements
- Weather-resistant equipment rated for extreme conditions
- A 99.9% availability SLA on Priority (business) plans
- A 30-day return window on hardware, at the time of writing
- No long-term contracts, and you can cancel anytime
Starlink’s self-install kit has no installation fee, but hardware and shipping are extra.
How does Starlink pricing compare to traditional internet?
Starlink is competitive with rural internet options and offers unique advantages:
- Vs. Rural DSL/Cable: Rural wired options are often slower and less reliable, and cable or fiber is usually better value where available
- Vs. 5G Home Internet: Often cheaper, but limited to areas with strong cell coverage
- Vs. Satellite (HughesNet/Viasat): Traditional satellite typically has data allowances and high latency
While Starlink’s upfront equipment cost can be higher, its speeds, low latency, unlimited data on Residential plans and wide coverage make it a strong value for rural and remote locations.
Can I change my Starlink internet plan after signing up?
Yes, you can change your Starlink internet plan from your account, subject to availability at your address. Starlink lets you:
- Move between Residential plans
- Switch to Roam plans if you start traveling
- Pause with Standby Mode (a low-speed plan with a small monthly fee; it isn’t free)
- Cancel anytime with no early termination fees
Per Starlink’s plan-change rules, a change to a more expensive plan starts immediately with a prorated charge, and a change to a cheaper plan starts at your next billing cycle.
Are there any additional Starlink costs I should know about?
Budget for these potential additional costs:
- Shipping and taxes: shown at checkout
- Mounting accessories: a pole, roof or other mount costs extra if you need one
- Ethernet adapter: needed for a wired connection with the Gen 2 router and some other setups (the Gen 3 router has Ethernet ports)
- Demand surcharge: some high-demand areas have had an extra charge on new orders
- Power: electricity depends on the kit. Starlink’s spec sheets list about 20-40 W on average for the Mini and about 75-100 W for the Performance kit
Most users only pay for hardware, shipping and monthly service.
What is the Starlink price per month for business users?
Business accounts use Starlink’s Local Priority and Global Priority plans, which are built around monthly blocks of priority data (Local Priority is offered in 50GB, 500GB, 1TB and 2TB options). Once priority data is used, service continues at throttled speeds of up to 1 Mbps down and 0.5 Mbps up unless you add more data.
Prices and required hardware vary, so see Starlink’s business plans page for current figures.
Does Starlink internet price include installation?
Starlink is a self-install system, so there is no installation fee. Most people set it up themselves:
- All the hardware and cables you need come in the kit
- The Starlink app guides you through choosing a spot and setting up
- The dish automatically aligns and connects to satellites
If you prefer professional installation, third-party installers charge their own rates. That is optional and isn’t part of Starlink’s price.
